Great PVP pet. With the new Beast Brawler acheive, this is a must pet. Don't bring him out at beginning, this is clean up pet with his ability to stun. Vengeful Porcupette is great at beginning to clear up those undead that everyone wants to play, so speed him up and protect yourself with Spirit Spikes. Corgi's are good also, even a fast 325 Summit Kid. Argi is another, always cast Headbutt first, stunning is your friend. Hope this helps. Artox.
This is my favorite pet to bring into Wailing Caverns for the first 3 battles. He is so fast that even when the enemy pets cast Screech to slow him down....they can't slow him down. So basic the strategy is, Pounce, Pounce, cast Devour to heal up when moment is right. His pounce ability will always do over 400hp every round, so it's a easy battle. Of course bring in lower level pets to move up in experience, while this Cat decimates opponents.
This note is for anyone having trouble finding the orphaned Bloodgazer. After you kill the Matriarch and then loot her. Head south. You will see a small island with six big rocks on it, two starfish and no plants. The orphan won't eat the Azsunian G's, but once he gets a whiff of them; he will be your best friend forever.
I had trouble finding this guy the first few times around. Once you kill the Matriarch, head up the path with the headless skeleton. (make sure you loot the matriarch first) Ride right over the top of skeleton and then up a small rise, almost directly south-east of Matriarch nest. Make sure you have your Dried Billberry with you. Talk to the Orphan and then it will appear in your pet inventory.
Against Bodhi Sunwayver, this pet can be devastating. This Owl can easily solo all three of his pets. Hit his aquatic pet first with your Savage Claw, then Darkness next, to combat any healing. Again, hit that aqua pet with another Savage Claw and save the Nocturnal Strike for the flying pet he brings in next round. You are going to take damage from Whirlpool, but it's not enough to worry about. Bring in any 10th level or higher pet, as 3rd pet, to get xp.
If you're like many people you have more than one. Against the final Humanoid boss on 4th stage of new Deadmines pet battles (forgot his name), this pet is deadly, bring two. This tenacious, voracious rat will be faster; so just hit boss with RABID STRIKE then CONSUME. When he stuns your 1st rat, just swap in 2nd rat, rinse and repeat. Throw in your GHOSTLY STRIKE just before you die. CROUCH is good on 2nd rat once you swap in, as alt strategy.
;This is not the best battle pet in the world; but in Broken Isles, I have found him very useful because of his flock ability. The chicken will die fairly quickly, but that is what you want, because the added damage from the flock will reap you many benefits, when your second pet comes into play. Look below for battle strategies from Vek. soon as he dies, you swap in the second pet.
I want to thank everyone for their comments on Blue CLockwork Rocket Bot. I did not realize that this shiny blue pet came in different breeds. This was my first pet ever and I love how devasting he is as a frontline pet when you are battling pets in the wild. I basically use this guy to whittle down beast pets and then capture what I need. Read Monticello, Illuminati,Aranyszin and Eekmeister for more info.Below.
This pet should be in everyone's arsenal. He is only slow at start; but with POWERBALL, you can move your speed up--even against flyers. And if a flying pet attacks you, then SPIRIT SPIKES is your best friend. He does a lot of damage against undead so make sure you have FLANK as your third ability slot. Do not be afraid to cast SPIRIT SPIKES as soon as you gain initiative, because it will save you. I love Kuster's comments below.
If you are having trouble with Stitches Jr.Jr. in Dalaran(Broken Isles) then throw this beast in as your first pet. Argi is just devastating and can solo this extremely ugly, bloated, and nasty undead thingy. On first round cast CHEW; because when it hits on next round, it's devastating. Follow up with your basic HORN GORE. Rinse and repeat. Once Argi gets below 50%, watch how much damage the CHEW ability does. As backup, use a larva, grub or maggot.
This is a great first pet to bring out when battling Splint Jr. in Dalaran, Broken Isles. Use the combo in this order: Poison Spit, Brittle Webbing, then Spiderling Swarm. You can follow this pet up with an Alterac Brew Pup with a Call to Pack, then one Bite later....oh poor Splint is dead. May he rest in pieces.
You can find these moths all over Val'Sharah. Nothing exceptional about them. You can take a nice S.E.L.F.I.E. with them on your flying mount with a blue backdrop; which creates a nice picture, but otherwise not much good for any real battling.
To summon Gorebeak (and get the Pygmy Owl), you first need to speak with Lorel Sagefeather in the Whispering Bluffs of Val'sharah. She will tell you that she will help defeat Gorebeak, but she doesn't help much. Near the end of the fight, Gorebeak will ask you to battle your darkest fears, which is a big Manafiend. The air around you will get dark and scary; but don't avail, kill Gorebeak first, then focus on that nasty Manafiend. Good luck all.
Getting a rare Eldritch Manafiend is quite common. Only took me 2 tries. No need to use an upgrade stone. There is only one breed of this pet, so there is no real need to hunt for more to get different breeds. He is quite scary looking and frightens my flying pets. He will team up with my Nexus Whelpling and Undead pets, but all others are afraid...very, very afraid.
Against, Tarr the Terrible, pet daily from nagrand this is a great secondary pet. Use ghostly bite, infected claw and lift off. I always start with a restless shadeling which has about a 50% time of soloing the whole battle. For 3rd pet I will bring in a random 17t-20th level pet, just for mop up and the avg of over 4000 exp gained. Many times Restling Shadeling will die just as Tarr's 3rd pet casts Lift Off;perfect, you're faster, just cast Lift Off and take no dmg.
Be aware of the following ability called Spirit Spikes against flyers that use the following abilities: Egg Barrage, Flock and even Slicing Wind and Moth Balls. It will block all those attacks but it won't do any damage backwards. So this is good or bad depending on your stategy.
very underestimated pet...since many people play undead. this pet becomes deadly...it has speed and if you dodge and burrow..this pet will win you many battles...trust me,,,i rarely go into a pet battle without this silly little critter..The downsize of this pet is againat Beast pets, but hardly anyone uses them in pet battles, so why worry. This is a no brainer, because so many combatants use undead. i always time the undead pet that is attacking me with a burrow..it works.reallly well
This is an awesome pet vs. Tarr the Terrible. With some good luck this pet can easily solo him. Mine has speed 273. Always start with Phase Shift, then Plagued Blood for damage & heals, then spam Shadow Shock til 1st pet is dead. Then repeat on 2nd pet, until 2nd pet is dead. On 3rd pet, Phase Shift & Plague, he will soar above you and be unattackable for one round, bring your Elekk Plushie in now, or a pet you want to level up. Your 3rd pet is backup.
For some reason I love this pet, although I always feel like he is watching me. I am not paranoid. My psychiatrist says that he is not watching me, so I am sure he is not watching me. I mean how could he watch me, he's not real. Is he? But anyways, the best pet against flyers is the Nexus Whelpling in my opinion. But the next best pet against flyers is the Arcane Eye. His Drain Power ability is awesome if you combine that with Arcane Storm. Look out.
I am happy to announce that you do not need to be exalted with the Dreamweavers to get this pet. I was only revered and did world quests and it dropped from Dreamweaver Provisions for me; I was so happy, because I been trying for months to get this pet.
