Tried several weeks for this guy finally on a Friday morning at 12:42 am I flew into area, found 5 ally toons camped out in different spots.I decided to fly between them not expecting anything, near the ground around the center of the craters and made a turn towards the road when one materialized directly infront of me. I got my green paw and clicked just a second later two of the alliance toon dropped down beside me but it was to late. I got it, gray but I dont care, I GOT IT. 

everytime i enter the bamboo wilds from the north all the animals phase out including the battle pets. have reported this to wow gm who wrote this up as a bug and sent it to the developers.  as soon as i cross the line into the bamboo wilds everything phases out, maybe its because i am horde and this is alliance leveling area, i dont know. Just cant find one. very frustrating.

can confirm cradle of the ancients (Uldum)is the place for these critters, level 23 and 24. They walk around in groups of three  two white and one red, greens aplenty didnt see a blue though.
