After deciding to seriously look for these raptor pets, I installed the TomTom add on via Curse and it has made all the difference as I'm really bad with directions. Used this TomTom macro based on the comments here and searched under the trees:

Found Takk's nest after my fourth look (my mage camped this area for a day). 

Just got another hatchling for hubby so two today! Found this one at: 64.09 23.01

Decided to use my Alliance mage to get this pet. She would port to Theramore, check to look for Dart's nest in Dustwallow and proceed to the Barrens for the calf. Found a gray one at around coordinates 50 50 near the Ruins of Camp Taurajo after doing this for about four times. The calf was alone and there weren't any other girafffes around it. 

Used Tom Tom and the four way points that Orlendis shared. Worked perfectly my first time there, found the nest on the 2nd way point. Thank you so much for this information.
