I didn't see many Hatchling spawns to begin with. Out of three spawns, I'm doing decent. One golden common and a jade rare (out of the two I battled, it was the first one!)

Now I search for the crimson one and a rare golden...

I was starting to think it doesn't rain on the island. Tonight, I decided that while I watched TV I would just keep my laptop open and wait for the rain. I fell asleep during my show and when I woke up I could see rain and many spawns of this on my screen. I quickly started a battle- only got an uncommon but left it at that since by the time I finished my battle many spawns were gone and I wanted to spread the news of rain to others in my guild trying for this pet.

Do not lose faith. I've been trying to catch one of these for awhile. This place is more heavily camped than Sindragosa's Fall on my server. I had a few moments before logging off for the night tonight and I thought I would check. 4 campers, nothing there. So I flew off, collected some pets in Hyjal and decided to fly over and check one last time. There it was- I swooped down and got to it before the others. Uncommon quality- all and all I'm very pleased. So don't give up hope! 

I must have been super lucky- first try looking for one caught a rare on the only spawn I saw. Happy Hunting!

Looking forward to using this pet in battle. I was lucky enough to have this seed drop on my third day of farming. At the time, I didn't know what the ominous seed was when it dropped but I planted it anyways.

I wasn't even looking for this pet when I found it. I was levelling archeology and was killing to clear the zone I was surveying. I generally loot everything, then sell all the junk on my way to the next site. As I was going through my bags, selling my greys I found this pet. I was so excited, but feel bad for anyone that spent hours trying to get it. It makes a pretty great battle pet too.
