Happened across these quite by accident. Very few spawn locations, but a lot of mobs in the area, so they can be hard to access. Also frequently on the cliff or flying high above you. I found a lot of grays, it was very difficult to not kill them so I suggest doing damage with a leveling pet.
Try not to battle them where the elite spawns. Got knocked out of the battle that way :/
Still, my favorite colors for this model. Beautiful pet!
Just happened across the nest containing this little guy in the crook of the tree. It was being "guarded" by three yellow/neutral teroclaws. Once you have looted this pet on your character you will not see the nests any longer, and so will not be able to help your friends search for theirs, however, right after the server restart we saw a bunch of them.
I got mine at 2:55 pm central time on an eastern server). This was about 26 hours after server restart. I had started flying around and killing nearby battle pets, I don't know if this actually helped it just made me feel less bored.
These spawn at Sindragosa's Falls, unfortunately though, I've never seen one unless its right after a server restart. On top of that, its a highly prized pet thats hard to get, so its highly farmed, be prepared for some competition!
There are literally dozens of these guys on the Isle of Spears (Kamauga flightpath). They are available at all times of the day, and their numbers make this an excellent spot to level some teams. I took 4 teams through hear from lvl 18 to 21 and never want out of a worg to grind.
Can be found where the adults are, generally around carcasses and bones. They usually are in high density (about 6 to a carcass), so they make great areas to level a team in quickly.
You can find them densely packed in the Scalding Pools.
There are so many that they could make for a good area to level several teams, just make sure to pull your pets out of battle early so they dont die from poison DoTs, this little Slimeling casts a lot of them, and repeated dying tends to slow the level grind :)
These little guys are next to impossible to find. I've never seen one except around midday. Around 10am-2pm is when I see them occasionally, never at night. I might just be unlucky though, its so hard to tell if its on a timer. They're always in the water and they're pretty scarce, so if you see one, battle it!
Ive only seen one or two at a time, and it was heavily camped, so I didnt got my opportunity. It appears to be on a five hour spawn timer (dont know how this works with CRZ), at least, becuase I didnt see them show back up for a long time. Found a rare right outside the Lair today.
I had no luck finding these little guys. I went at any time randing from afternoon to night, and killed everything in the area, but nothing showed up.
When I logged on this mornin at 0930 there were over a dozen of the guys in there! Sunshine for game weather too. Maybe they are just early risers?
OK- I saw this on Wowhead, and it works.
The Crimson Moth seems to only appear as a secondary pet, however, it is noted in the text that it loves Kingsblood. I turned on my herbalism and farmed pets only next to Kingsblood and the moth never failed to show. Best tip ever.
At 9:00 pm server time I found these and Dusk Spiderlings in large numbers. Makes a great levelling spot.
I found huge numbers of them in Blightwood Grove, in combination with the Widow Spiderling (at night only) its an ideal levelling area as they are out in droves.
Travel North of the lake, you'll find them on top of the mountain ridges.
You must kill the adult infested bears found at the below locations
http://www.wowhead.com/npc=61758
after you clear the bears out the cubs will start to spawn. Keep killing bears as you come across them so that the cubs continue to spawn. Its a bit more of a pain to farm for these guys, but they make a nice addition to a zombie team.
Found a number of them Northwest of Greenwardens Grove around the lakes and inlets. Occasionally they bring a Ram which I havent been able to find as coming from anywhere else. This was at noon in clear weather.
These little beauties are all along the mountain ridges of Loch Modan. They only spawn during the daylight hours, but there are so many of them you'll have no problem finding them if you stick to the ridges. Great for pet levelling because of their abundance.
The pet battle area might be obscured, but often if you angle your toon differently it will let you battle eventually.
Unfortunately I've battled 35 and still no rare, or even uncommon... I may be cursed.
The highest concentration of fawns seems to be outside the gates of Stormwind ( a sticky spot if you're horde), but you can also always trade in your lvl 1 for a higher lvl in Grizzly Hills.
