Well I for one, am happy with the change. Unless it was relatively easy to upgrade each pet, say if you got a chance for a level 25 pet to pop epic while battling, say you use a certain pet as a main for your carry pet team, and while battling with the carry pet, it could either pop randomly, or after a set number of fights, like garrison followers. If they made it a stealth 26th level so to speak, it could have worked. Or, if epic stones dropped WAY more frequently during battles than any rare stones ever did, so say going for the 2000 battles for Draenor Pet Brawler, if stones dropped every 4-5 battles, you would be near complete just doing a similar achievement in Legion. Granted, that is still a LOT of grinding pets, but if there were a XP way to get a pet to epic like followers as well, then it could have been doable.
Either way, I am happy they decided to spare us pet enthusiasts the trouble of upgrading 700+ pets to a new level, or epic.
Just curious, but I was trying to find some links to view these guys in 3D, and my usual goto is Wowhead, but none of the 'view in 3D' buttons bring up a viewable pet, just a blank box. I checked to see if it was my browser, but looking at most anything else on wowhead works just fine. Could anyone with access to alpha and possibly youtube post the pet journal with a Legion pets walkthrough, so we could at least see the 3D from the journal? Or, does someone know if this has already been done?
Also, the dust bunny would not be complete without a grey aura, like Pigpin from the Peanuts comics.
So, Chromadon's Magic scales looks like it would be easily countered with something like Lightning storm then a Zandalari raptor's black claw and hunting party combo. followed by either a second raptor, or any pet with a stampede ability, whatever family is less affected by his attacks.
@granny- All account bound items are cross faction, you just need to make a horde toon to go out and lvl your horde only pets, and summon them to cast the stones on them.
Fragment of Suffering has the exact same slot 2 abilities, with different names.
I totally agree with Hyjal... Maybe if they are adding RwL, they will 'fix' some of the pain of having to get through it. Like how they made Lady Vashj solo-able, and 'tried' to make Spine of Deathwing easier to solo. The worst is the horde camp, where you have to run everywhere to kill all the adds. At least Rage Winterchill is MUCH easier to solo post 6.0. On the plus side, with 19 toons at 93 plus, and gaining every day, I will ROFLstomp all 3 raids each week for max chances at drops.
As of the current build, and according to going to the WoD version of wowhead, and selecting tameable pets, there are just over 100 new pets that have been added and are obtainable in WoD.

I just spent the better part of an hour over on wowhead looking at all of our new editions to the pet journal.
I am really looking forward to the garrison, but with all this pet battlin' I am going to be doing, when will I have the time?

10th Anniversary Molten Core is supposed to be 40 man LFR only, if I understand it correctly, so the drop will be personal loot. Whether there will be bonus rolls or not, and whether those rolls can happen more than once a week are up for debate, But I plan on running all 18 of my lvl 90's (hopefully lvl 100's come WoD) through as much as I can, just to be safe, =P
Also, if the mini carpet is the work around for all non-flying pets to be able fly behind/beside me, then I approve!
Atrius, you sir win teh interwebz! Great find, I had forgotten about Candy Mountain, and the hilarity it brought in its day.
The accuracy changes are the best thing to pet battles since ever!! I would MUCH rather have a wider range of possible damage, than the possible 'miss' 'miss' miss'...dead scenario we have now. If they could just fix the capture crate's accuracy also, maybe a grind to get one that has a 100% chance to capture on the fisrt toss?
Can these have a stone used on them to 'rarify' them? I tried, and the tooltip is blue, but WPC still has it listed as green.
So, I am 400 off from the best on the site. Is the best way to progress up the ranks still via adding more rare pets, or does this mean leveling helps more towards your score now?
P.S. I am around 30 points off being 3rd on my realm, which is a small personal goal for me.
Curious on this guy, what order would you use the wild magic/poisoned branch/thorns combo in?
@Allaana, These spawn under VERY specific circumstances:
1. You need to have completed the Horde or Alliance intro quests beginning with 'Meet the Scout' and is obtained at 90 from a member of your faction outside your shrine. Alliance side: Lyalia <Sentinel Commander>, Horde side: Sunwalker Dezco <Dawnchaser Chieftain>. Once you get through the cinematic after a couple short quests, you will be in the right phase.
2. Next you need to collect Lion's Landing Commission Horde side, or Domination Point Commission Alliance side. You will need 2000 commissions to buy a <Rodent Crate> and the commissions drop off any of the opposing faction NPC's in the opposing faction camp. Lesser NPC's drop 1-2, and tougher ones drop 3-4, and the faction rares drop 9-11 on a 30-60 minute respawn so it will be a bit of a long grind.
I guess people do not know you can just quest through Mount Hyjal on a separate toon and get the one you didin't get the first time. I have 4 total, 2 of each.
Or, I could not be a dumbass, and read that the posts are PRE-MoP. But anyway, you can get as many of these as you want, up to 3 each, as long as you have 6 toons over level 80 to run through Hyjal to the point you get this quest.

Too bad death grip and curse of doom are the same tier, CoD then grip another pet to the front and fight it while the other dies on the back row would have been sweet. As it is you can still DoT up a pet then grip another to the front while the DoT ticks.
This guy has soome of the best combos of any pet. Supercharge + call lightning = dead beast, + call blizzard = dead mech. Follow a call lightning with flurry = dead critter, and does a lot of damage vs most everything else but flying and elemental, but you should never use a mech vs elemental, anyway.
Trying to stay in the top 1000 on the site and holding onto #2 on my server is a neverending job.
