Combo of Cute Face and Emerald Dream makes this guy kind of rough to catch. I didn't think it was possible dodge that many cage attempts in a row.
It may be a new thing but contrary to the information given on the main tab for this pet, it CAN be caged and traded.
However it worked before, now you can still request bait even after you've caught three. Theoretically you could gamble for a rare.
If you want to catch one, make sure it does not have Burst or it's likely to kill itself. Drop the battle and restart until it shows up with Bloodfang instead.
None of my addons caused any problems. I do recommend you have your Interact function keybound.
They can appear as primary pets in the Under Junk section of the dungeon.
Not only does he respond to /sit, he actually appears to be napping in your lap... eyes closed and all.
Argh, 4 unique colors and you can only have 3...
From comments on Wowhead I found that the other battle pets in the area (Rapana Whelk and Kelp Scuttler) can't be killed... thus leading to another conclusion - that battling them increases your chances of a Tiny Apparition becoming a battle pet. I had one spawn after battling a couple other pets.
@Sunborne - If they left PWS as is and only nerfed Howl, the Howl Bomb would remain. It simply wouldn't last for a follow-up hit.
RIP Howl Bomb. I understand why you had to die, but I'm still sad to see you go.
The header on this Blizzard Watch "The Queue" might be a clue to that snail race.
Quint, I just noticed a small error in the news. You don't have to actually win against Erris to get her, if you track her down in LFG. All you have to do is pick up her quest. Then she will be in all your account's garrisons, and you can complete the quest at your leisure on the toon of your choice.
XP might have been nerfed in the garrison daily battle, but it's one feature altoholics have a big advantage in, especially since the tokens are BoA now. I open a week's worth of bags at a time, send everything to my main, and combine it all into one long level-fest.
Just a suggestion - do NOT farm these with another person who already has them.
A friend helped me for a couple of hours, farming almost continuously. Only one pet dropped the whole time. She had all four already learned. She was astonished how hard it was to get anything to drop.
When I went back alone, I got the other three with only 3 clears of the two land camps near the ship.
Might be 1/person only, which would bork the drop rate farming them in a group.

The battle info for this pet says 149 health at level one. I think it was recently upgraded; mine is showing 152.
Second day, first fox out of camp dropped the kit for me. I was very relieved; I love the foxes too much to like killing them.
Best time I ever had with this little guy is when I was taking a toon through the Alliance intro to Pandaria. My addon automatically summoned him as I panned my camera around in the little helicopter I was in, whence he wailed "Too soon!" as he fell away to the ground.
Added: He randomly picks targets around him to throw a snowball at, giving them an 8 or 10 second buff called Infrigidate - their own personal snow shower. He can pick players or combat pets, not sure about other vanity pets.
