Plundering For Pets
From January 14, 2025 to February 18, 2025 players can participate in a special battle-royale-inspired gamemode, Plunderstorm. Earn Plunder to purchase a number of cosmetics, including two new battle pets! [source]
Two new battle pets, Parley and Sparklesnap (both pictured above), are now available from the Plunderstore for 2000 Plunder each.
Pets earned from the previous Plunderstorm event are also available from the Plunderstore.
Year of the Wood Snake
Players that have a 6 or 12-month subscription will receive the Timbered Air Snakelet pet at no extra cost for Cataclysm Classic.
The Timbered Sky Snakelet (pictured right) battle pet can be added to Retail collections, however it requires a separate purchase from the Blizzard Store ($10USD).
Although the pet is essentially the same for both versions of WoW, Classic and Retail have slightly different names ("Air" vs. "Sky").
For those of you putting off the Plunderstorm grind it is so much easier this year as the 'rewards' are no longer tied into levelling your character. It took me under 30 minutes to earn enough gold to buy both the new pets.
Top tip .. Land on a rare (a star on your map) to level instantly, collect as much gold as you can see lying around plus plunder any chests. Upgrade any spells you collect by collecting another of the same spell. Make the quest your PRIORITY as it rewards gold and good luck!
I'm so glad that they have given us Retail users the option to buy the pet this time, now if they make the other Classic subs pets available in retail, I'd be very happy :)
The Timbered Air Snakelet is a beautiful pet :)
Currently bugged for EU.
GIFT is showing available for US, Korea and Taiwan regions only. Hope they fix this !
