Thanks to the WoW Secret Finding Discord, a new battle pet has been discovered — Phoenix Wishwing (pictured right)!
To collect this pet players will need to procure the following:
The Phoenix Ash Talisman is sold by Zektar in Spires of Arak (may require some zone-campaign progression to see this NPC).
This Arakkoa vendor won't give up this talisman easily, though. In order to buy it you'll need to collect:
Note that the Glittering Phoenix Ember can only be looted from Alysrazor during Cataclysm Timewalking (Firelands raid). This event is going on right now this week, so be sure to find a group and defeat Alysrazor, or you'll need to wait until the next Cataclysm Timewalking event comes around.
Once you've purchased the talisman using the reagents listed above, and have the feathers and ashes previously mentioned, head to Tarjin the Blind on The Waking Shores to collect your new phoenix companion!
We're ecstatic that another previously datamined pet has been discovered. We'll be adding Phoenix Wishwing to our database as soon as we can, thank you for your patience!
Spent too long on What Beats Rock . A really good videogame' doesn't beat rock, and now I can’t stop laughing. The game’s quirky logic is what makes it so fun.
I bought it on the AH after farming for the pico park day and not nearly halfway through obtaining all the reagents.
I believe it's the second set of feathers I'm having issues with. The ones over by lava and i keep croaking
I've been at the last feather stage for a while. I'm having trouble farming. If anyone has a spot that isn't full of elites - let me know.
I just finished the grind tonight. The pet is gorgeous!
I didn't find the Inert Ash grind too bad - Mojojoee has a character on Lightninghoof, a low-population server, so we grouped on that server. With no competition, the ash drops reasonably quickly. In any case, make sure you group up with other scavengers for the Un'goro phase.
She got stuck on the next stage, getting stuff in Spires of Arak. I had a trivial time with that, with most of the stewpots being active, but they weren't for her. I'm guessing it's a long cooldown.
The final phase, farming Smoldering Phoenix Ash, was a bigger pain. Several hours of chasing the Lava Phoenix. I got to 10 out of 15 relatively easily, then hit a wall. The last five took like 3 hours.
But now I have a beautiful and ultra-rare pet, and eventually Mojojoee will have one also.
Inert ash farm almost broke me. very low number of mobs that drop it, low respawn rate and very low chance to drop.
Ba'al was hard AND fun/interesting even with the bug at the end. this was just mindless repetition of farming.
Still can't fathom the timewalking gating to get one of the items.
Compared to events like the shadowy figure in pet dungeons and it's finale, Ba'al etc. the is a big step down for creativityimagination on Blizzard's part. Sad.
Do you need to have some parts done before the item from the time walking raid will drop?
bought it on the AH after 24 hours of farming and not even being half way to collecting all the reagents
Nothing is more infuriating than this being tied to a timewalking Raid. I'll never be able to solo it, and my craptop can't even handle things like the community feast. How about they just worry about giving us more Raiding with Leashes achievements since they haven't given us one since early-mid Legion!
If you didnt play Draenor theres a whole bunch of quests you also need to do to unlock the required npc.
