Contrary to its benign appearance, mongoose are dangerous carnivores, well known for their ability to hunt venomous snakes that could kill much larger creatures.
Found a rare outside of Niuzao Temple. It had a few Mongoose Pups following it around, which is nice if you are looking to capture those as well.
Easy fight with any flying pet. I used a Flegdling Kingfeather (25), then had a Cat (25) and a Siamese Cat (24) as back-up to fight the secondaries. The secondaries this one had was a Yakrat and another Mongoose.
S/S is one of the fastest non-fliers there is, but with only 1156 health and only Survival and Dive to avoid incoming damage makes this a bit squishy. I prefer the Pup which is slightly slower but a bit more durable. Can often get one up on Death Adders that rely on being faster, but since you are not faster than birds be very wary of them. This pet is even faster than annoying rabbits(357), this counters one turn of Dodge and weakens Flurry. Niche role, outside that won't preform as well.
caught my rare at the fp in townlong, at the first quest hub, battled a yakrat, and this little guy was attatched :)
found this guy at 70.9 81.3 in townlong steppes he had 3 mongoose pups following it oh and it was 7:00am server time
