Even at this tiny size, Direhorns are known to wreak havoc on unsuspecting victims.
One of the more frustrating pets to battle when he starts rolling. Even if you have S/S pets it usually isn't enough with the team buff so you sit there and pray that the stun RNG will be in your favor as he slowly wears you down. Rag's trap can be effective in slowing or stopping the cute little horns from gutting your team... if lady luck is on your side.
Otherwise lets hope you have a beast killing mech on your team. :)
Your PVP wins have to be through battle finder. Got mine today after three days of grinding. Used one of my purple stones to level him straight to 25 to try him right away in PVP.
My my team for most of my 250 PVP wins were: Rabbit (ninja), Unborn Valkyr, and a Fiendish Imp. I sometimes substitute a ninja crow for the Imp for variety. I forfeit matches where my opponent has a crab because of their shields.
Does it have to be through the battle finder? Or can you battle friends? Because I think it would be faster to duel a dedicated friend 500 times, 250 for you and 250 for them?
A fun pet, not worth the time to farm. Very durable with his shield, allowing him to easily take advantage of stampede and then charge dealing 20% + 600ish damage to the enemy per attack. A decent contender who is a very versatile pet.
Strongest of the three Direhorns(325 power). You get it after 250 pvp pet battle wins. Even after 5.4 nerf Direhorns are still powerful pets. Ironically they are one of the best pets against some of the 5.4 top pets. They are still a bit RNG dependant, but having low hit rates means you will hit very hard. Trihorn Charge, priority move is very useful. Trihorn Shield is very underrated, one of the most powerfuld shield moves. AoE damage with slow and a 25% stun move. Truly still a solid pet.
Team Slayer setup (Inspiration gotten from: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jjbxn5L-OGE), Wild Jade Hatchling, Lil' XT, Scourged Whelpling. Start off with Cyclone, Call Lightning swtich to Lil' XT and use Tantrum and then go to Scourged Whelpling for Dreadful breath. I pet battle pvp on my iPad with the Slashtop app so this team is great for watching TV.
If you have a lower level alt be sure to use it, I won 70 games before I rememebred you can get xp this way.
Finally got mine! My advice is to try to win 10 a day, plus the weekly quest. Best luck with this team: rare warbot, bone spider, lil rag. Hard hitting team, death grip them into your minefield for giggles. Good luck!
Seeing as I FINALLY have this pet, I thought I'd share a PVP team that I had GREAT success with. Undead Val'Kyr, Gilnean Raven and Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling. I had a win % of 83% over the final 150 fights I did with this team. I have no intention of any more PVP pet stuff (until of course blizzard introduces another pet acquired through that means).
He does have an animation, he will very occasionally circle you leaving a dusty trail behind him. He's a vicious battle pet too! So adorable you could just eat him up.
I'm going to be working on this one slowly over the next 25 weeks.
With the new weekly quest for winning 10 PvP battles, I'm going to do just enough to complete that quest every week.
