This pet is redeemed through the common 'Nightsaber Cub' loot card from the World of Warcraft Twilight of the Dragons TCG expansion. The card may be scratched to reveal a code allowing access to this pet. The code may be redeemed at Blizzard's promotion retrieval page. The pet may be obtained in-game from Landro Longshot in Booty Bay.

Elune made nightsabers silver and black so they could meld into the shadows on a moonlit night.
The pet is exclusive to the old Trading Card Game (TCG) that had a scratch off panel with a code on it. You enter the code in the game (in Booty Bay) to redeem the item. There are 14 TCG pets in the game and sell for between 100-200k each in the AH (as of 6.2.4). They are a common way for players to move gold between servers which keeps the price artificially high. You can buy the cards off of sites like eBay for € $ £ as well.

There are 17 different feline beasts with identical movesets. The only difference (battle wise) is the breed. For the 4 cats that have a breed choice, only the Sand Kitten and the Snow Cub cannot be mimicked by any other breed. The Cheetah Cub is the fastest with 390 speed. The most powerful is the Cornish Rex Cat with 341 power. The healthiest is the B/B Snow Cub with 1481 health. The amount of health restored from using Devour increases with power.
Just found this pet for 21k on Uther, normally around 60k! Couldnt pass her up!
Had to get this loot card. Was able to get it off Ebay for just a couple bucks. He's so cute, I just don't know what to name him. He likes to sleep a lot. It's almost like every time my toon stops he lays down to sleep. LOL.

Got mine last night for 5k. I admitt it isnt as good of a deal as I first expected, but still a lot better than I've seen it up for before.
This cub is a bit of nostalgia for me--- back in my hunter's first days, the grown-up version of this cutie was the first pet we tamed! Now his little brother gets to battle too! : >
