Once protected by the thick forests of the isle, these smaller and less aggressive krolusks have had to rapidly adapt to their recently deforested home.
From the game database, the bright red is the rarest colour (1 in 8, or 12.5%). The two remaining colours: brown and a burnt red-orange, are equally common (7 in 16, or 43.75% each). This pet can also occur as a wild secondary pet, so if you find a secondary with good stats you can always just keep restarting the battle until it appears in the colour you're after.
In some lighting it can be hard to tell if the pet is red or red-orange, but the easiest way is to look at their legs: the brighter red kroling has legs that are almost white, while on the red-orange they're much darker.
