Patch 5.0.1 | Posted: September 25, 2012
The coral adder's venom is so deadly that one bite has been known to kill a full grown kodo beast.
i killed all the pets that showed up (not battled) killed about 15-20 and then the coral adders started to show upÂ
64, 86 picked up a rare 7/1/18
So it's definitely a phasing issue. I saw none at all until I got near the Den of Sorrow, then suddenly over a dozen appeared. Any time I wandered away from the Den of Sorrow back into the Bamboo Wilds, they disappeared again. Going to assume there is a quest chain that can swap the phase for you, but I unfortunately am not sure which quest it is. I caught a few over at 65, 81. Hopefully that'll help someone.
For those of you who have settled for a poor quality one; don't give up! I kept on checking the spawnpoints everytime I got near and today I was rewarded with a rare. They do excist! :D
I noticed some people commenting they were having to settle for poor quality pets due to the low spawn frequency. Remember Green Battlestones are awarded frequently for PvP pet battle wins. It's a good way to clean up the bottom of your pet collection.
Ran across a huge group of them around 66.4 85.2.
Coral Adders (along with other Jade Forest pets) can also be found as secondary pets to the moths on the Timeless Isle. Kinda funny considering they're only primary pets in their native habitat, but the Timeless Isle is nothing if not quirky. ;)
So I'm pretty positive I figured out the phasing issue because it's so close to the shoreline it could be affected by the dominance offensive. Also it could be if you haven't completed all the quests in the zone. I tried on a toon that hadn't done either and I had the same problem as everyone else and then went on a toon that had completed both and there was no phasing issue at all. So give it a try and see what happens! Was able to finally get one.Â
This is my happy dance! I searched for the Coral Adder for DAYS! no luck. Tonight on my first sighting I got a rare!Â
64.8 and 81.7. Woohoo. Two more are sitting close by also.Â
i saw a bunsh of them at the border beetwen den of sorrow and moonwater retreat but when i entered moonwater retreat they all dissapered. so i taunted 1 with hand reconing (paladin taunt) and led it out from the moonwater area. when it lost aggro i engaged it while it was trying to run backÂ
I'm on Wyrmrest Accord, and maybe it's either other hunters (that I don't see), timing or sheer bad luck, but the most I've found so far have been maybe two rezzed at the same time, both poor. This thing dings my stats! :(
Spent a lot of time the past few days with an alt just above Moonwater Retreat. Â I can't even count all the coral adders I battled with. Â They were ALL poor quality except my last one which is a green uncommon.Â
Good enough!!
Went to the area listed in comments. Found three. I captured a rare at 64.0, 85.0! Thanks for the comments. I love it when people leave cordinate tips!
It was a lvl 23 weakened to 21 by capture. It had a Sandy Petrel and an Emerald Turtle with it.
I just found six Coral Adders between Moonwater Retreat and Pearlfin Village on the edge of the Bamboo Wilds... it was evening (6:15 pm server time) and raining, if that makes a difference. One was Uncommon, the rest were Common or Poor - so I got my Uncommon at least! It seems they do spawn in fair numbers, but in a VERY small area.
everytime i enter the bamboo wilds from the north all the animals phase out including the battle pets. have reported this to wow gm who wrote this up as a bug and sent it to the developers. as soon as i cross the line into the bamboo wilds everything phases out, maybe its because i am horde and this is alliance leveling area, i dont know. Just cant find one. very frustrating.
Virgar, I followed your coords, found two poor and one uncommon. The uncommon was the second one I found.
Found 5 just north of moonwater retreat (66,86). They were all poor quality but at least I finally got one.
Do not limit your search for this little bugger to Bamboo Wilds. They can be found around Dreamer's Pavillion, Amberfly Bog and Moonwater Retreat too, albeit just as rarely.
Found two of these 2:25pm realm time, 64.09,81.75 (tom tom)
This was very annoying, a very small spawn area and not very clear information on Wowhead or anywhere. It doesn't seem to spawn as a secondary pet.
