An enigmatic species, said to feed off the chaotic energies of the Old Gods.
Contrary to the location information here, these can be found as primaries in the Master's Gate area of Deepholm. Caught a P/P rare as the second pet of a poor primary.
I found it today at 48.25, 73.48 as a primary (uncommon) along with Stowaway Rat and Deepholm Cockroach. :) in Deepholm Â
 nevermind it was a crystal beetle, I'd delete the coment if I knew how but for now just ignore it :P
Already a forum topic on this but making note of it here as well: This pet currently shows up with an interesting graphics glitch when wandering your garrison. It takes the appearance of a hunter pet sized black armored worg mount. Set it as one of your favorites and you'll have a new wolf friend to follow you around your garrison! As of 6.2 this pet no longer is glitched as a wolf in your garrison. :(
Got this in Sable Ridge after killing some ordinary Beetles. Got a common one. Also go a Twilight Spider Uncommon after 5 mins. :) So if you can´t see these guys flying over, just kill some Spiders and Beetles and they will spawn after a while :)
Got a rare Twilight Beetle as a second to a rare Amethyst Shale Hatchling in Deepholm :( Â The good thing is in Deepholm they start at level 22 or so.
After quite a bit of working on getting other rare pets in Nordrassil, Mount Hyjal, I found this guy as a rare secondary pet to a Silky Moth. Â :DÂ
Just a tip if you're not seeing these or the Twilight Spiders at Sable Ridge: killing the non-battle critters can get them to respawn as battle pets, and they can show up as secondaries to the other battle pets in Sable Ridge.
I couldn't believe it. First battle at Sable Ridge a level 6 rare was second to a roach, the next battle, a level 5 rare was second to a spider. Sable Ridge is definitely a good place to go for these guys.
I found a poor quality one in Deepholm around the Master's Gate. Good luck.
While running a figure 8 through Sable Ridge many, many, many times, I have an Uncommon Twilight Beetle and rare of everything else in the area. There just aren't enough of these there.
I was about to leave the sable ridge after several battles and no beetle, looking up where to go next and there was one finally appeared.
In Azshara I found both the Twilight Spider and the Twilight Beetle at Sable Ridge (70,15).Â
