Players will need to access and complete Island Expeditions to collect this pet. The pet is not a guaranteed reward, and players may need to complete Island Expedition scenarios multiple times.

What he is referring to is ensuring that you reach the requisite points in the scenario to trigger the elemental invasion. An elemental invasion will always preface the second wave of invasions, but the element is random.
@Sffcorgi: You can't trigger the invasions, they are random events.
I don't know what the above comment means about "triggering the battle with the elementals" but I got this after killing the same model of mob during my island expeidtion. I don't know if there is some special event that the other comment is referring to or if they just mean "fight and kill the elementals." But anyways, that's how these pets work, you kill the same model of creature as the pet you want, and then it has a chance to drop.
