The quest chain and the pet are modeled after PopCap's Plants vs. Zombies.
Similar to PvZ, players must survive five waves of ghouls in a mini-game started at Brazie's Farm, located just south of the Dalaran Crater in Hillsbrad Foothills. Players are phased out during each wave and will find themselves in vehicle-mode while defending the farm from ghouls using different plants.
Note: The repeatable version of the quest and feat of strength achievement (Bloom and Doom) is currently bugged and not available.
Brazie's Sunflower will occasionally hum or sing a line from the PvZ theme song as well as other miscellaneous tunes.
This companion is also known as the "Singing Sunflower" and is listed under this name in the pet tab in-game. However, the item and the summoning spell are labeled as "Brazie's Sunflower."
Confirmed that Sunflower can withstand Major Payne's Polar Bear. Use Sunlight to strike all of Payne's pets. Use Photosynthesis over and over during Sunlight's cooldown, and this takes a long time, but you can tag-in a mechanical to kill off the Polar Bear. The continuos heal +sunlight allows Sunflower to survive easily. Sunflower's low dmg cannot kill the Polar Bear, which is why a mechanical is needed on the team. 2 team strategy: Singing Sunflower + Iron Starlette
Pet is adorable, quest was fun, I wish there were more of these. Took thirty minutes max. It's a bit tricky to figure out initially, click the little balls of light, they'll shoot into the right corner and count toward your plant juice bar. Set it up kind of like you would a chess or a checkers board. Use stronger pieces to protect weaker ones. Like everyone else said, get your two rows of sunflowers, in back, to make you more plant juice.
Finnally got this pet after 100s of tryies
I've seen this pet around for years now and finally googled it - so glad I did. It's so cute and a great team pet too. The game is little frantic toward the end but set yourself up with 2 rows of sunflowers asap and block at the other end with stones. Fill in with spitters. Then just stockpile sunlight for pumpkin bombs toward the end and replace stuff as it gets destroyed. Enjoyed it so much I go back and play the daily whenever one of my toons is near Hilsbrad :)
Just crushed the last two stages:
• Plant sunflowers on the first two rows
• Put up barriers at third row
• Fill fourth and fifth rows with tentacles
• Pumpkin bomb on CD
Tentacles and bombs affect adjacent squares. Aim for the even numbered vertical rows for maximum effect (one square up/down from the bottom/top) and fill the rest in with tentacles afterwards. I didn't plant a single spitter or chiller.
Fun pet to get, great pet to use for PVE vs mechanical or most pets really. The beam when used with sunlight is a two hitter so it will kill the mechanical and then immediately kill it again after it respawns which is quite handy.
I use this guy in combination with corefire imp and one other. Casting rejuvination and then sunlight i switch him to the backline to bring out the imp. The imp uses is DoT and then cauterize which benefits greatly from sunlight. Switching the two keeps em alive
What's that she sings? "... there's a zombie on your behind?" Scary. I love to turn around and see her smile, especially as my dk gnome girl tends towards a little psychoticism (tho now she rolls with the Valkyr). Loved the quest for her. I wish there were more like it...for pets!! Remember she's a sunflower, so it figures you're gonna need lots of them to energise the other guys and defeat the zombies. So plant them early and there should be enough left when the zombies hit you hard in the later stages.
There seems to be a new vocalization Blizzard snuck into this little flower. It now says, "sunflower" every time you summon it!!!
What I found working best for the last quest is just 2 rows of sunflowers, 3 rows of spitters, and then whenever he puts up obelisks, blow them up with pumpkin bomb, and replace any spitters and sunflowers he kills with his poison. Never need to use any freezyas, rocknuts, or stranglevines. :)
This pet follows my Unholy DK around. Let that sink in.
Team with a Blossoming Agent. Cast Photosynthesis, then Sunlight. Switch to Agent. Cast same moves and switch back. Sunlight increases health by 50%, and Photo heal by 25%. This back and forth will keep pets at maximum health. Example: Jeremy Feasel at Darkmoon Faire - Sunlight will burn down all backline pets (including Fezwick). Just sub a leveling pet in and out that can take a 400+ hit from Judgement. Works with most tamers.
i actually demoed plantsvszombies when it first came out so once i found out where there lawn of the dead was i made it a point to acquire this guy. anybody got any team suggestions for him?
Since I've never played the game before, I was a little confused on how it worked. I got through the first three waves just fine, but needed the help of a YouTube video on the fourth wave. Two rows of sunflower are key for the fourth and fifth waves. What worked for me was two runs of sunflowers, one of shooters, one of freezers, and stone blocks or the whipvine things in the fifth row. Bombing the crap out of the boss made the 5th wave really easy. Good luck!
2 rows sunflowers 2-3 rows strangelvines. Bombs as needs on boss types. easy peasy:)
I got this pet with a lot of cursing...but honestly, watch the vids on youtube. Take a deep breath and do it. Don't rush, just keep putting up ur defenses. the worst thing to do is get happy fingers and try to rush it, trust me....this is NOT that kind of quest. I beat the final part after a good nights sleep, one more watch on the vid and yahoo!!!! I am NOT gonna try it again...once was enough.
If you are having trouble completing this quest - the following helps.
1) fill both the back rows with sunflowers as quick as possible. Zombies move slow so you have time to get that done and only drop a stong or two (or plant) in front of the zombies.
2) start adding your defense as far to the front as possible.
3) add sunflowers when you can to the third row ( 2 or 3 are good).
4) add stones to the first row (zombie side) as soon as possible. This gives you more time.
Finally got this guy today with a few bad language words possibly, lots of focus, and fast fingers but I did it! Plant as many sunflowers at the back as you can is the key, the more flowers the more power you'll have to make what you need to not lose your brains.
This guy is a lollygagger. He's so busy singing, he forgets to follow you! But he's so cute that it was worth completing the quest chain. If you're having trouble with the quests, head on over to Wowhead and read away. Good advice there.
ive tried the quest so many times and i cannot beat it ... I am about to have someone else do it for me >.> Can anybody give any tips?
I tried all the suggestions I could find for "Someone Setup The Pumpkin Bomb" and "Lawn Of The Dead", but works for me is 2 rows of sunflowers at the back on the left followed by 1 row of freezers, then all tentacles with stonenuts wherever needed (need Lots in LOTD) to slow undead progression until you can afford a tentacle to take out something that's breaking through. When planting the tentacles I positioned roughly middle first. Save bombs for mobs and the bosses. STOCKPILE SUN!
