Warlords of Draenor
Patch 6.0.1 | Posted: October 14, 2014
Players with any skill level of Herbalism (even as low as 1) can harvest plants in Draenor, however it's not necessary to have this profession to loot the pet.

Picking herbs from either nodes in Draenor or from the garrison Herb Garden (does not require Herbalism) can occasionally spawn a Disturbed Podling. This creature will drop a number of herbs, and has a chance to also drop the pet.

I love using Murkalot with two of these P/P pets. Left and Right fists with plenty of healing for themselves while they are in the back line. Going up against magic pets kinda sandbags this team however... but most other teams can be oneshot with RI.

I agree with Tekulve2012 completely. Nightshade Sproutling is easily in my top 3 must used PvP pets. He can counter Graves with well timed Blinds, and his Lash eats through Mechs. 5 Stars easily in PvP!

This is one of the best pvp pets in the game. The s/s breed (325speed) blinds quickly..and has lash to hurt mechs like the MpD. Slot 2-Darkness which hits hard..or the self heal if you prefer to use it, then backline to rebuild health. For pvp, always choose the blind move unless you have another pet with 'avoidance'

The h/h, h/p and p/p breeds could also fare ok in pvp if you use Dazzling dance in your comp. If using Darkness, a great pvp partner is the h/h breed Bone serpent

Finally got one of these to drop. Can now confirm it does drop off of colors other than the "dark blue podling". Mine came off a brown Talador Orchid disturbed podling in the Garrison.

440 attempts and NO podling! I know they exist because my husband got one at 13 attempts. And he won't trade it to me....

FINALLY! After 485 attempts, I got this pet off a random herb in the Tanaan Jungle.

This little guy is awesome.  I spent a couple of weeks LF an S/S, traded a Sand Scarab for it.  WELL worth it!  I haven't been up against one myself but I know that I must irritate the other player considering the other 2 pets I paired up with this cutie <3

I'd been focusing so much on how few Protectors were spawning in my mine I didn't realize that my Podlings could drop a pet too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately I probably have killed 40 since I joined the expansion and nothing yet.  Love blindness debuff... sneaky poison stuff.

This pet can be quite ridiculous in PvP. Just like the Death Adder Hatchling, she (mine's a H/B girly) can use Blinding Poison, but unlike the former, nobody knows that she can use it. This is terrific for suprise, and she can be either a healer with Nature's Ward or an anti-healer with Call Darkness, which is particularly useful in PvP. You can choose to keep her out of combat with Poison Lash or in combat with Lash.

Also, Fist of the Forest = Fist of the North Star, 'nuff said.

Got him from a podling which spawned in my garrison's herb garden.

Confirmed that you don't have to have herbalism for this little fella to drop. Cute little fella he is as well. Called mine Audrey, as he seems hungry.

I was doing my daily plant picking in my herb garden and one of the little sproutlings showed up and dropped him. According to my drop tracking addon it was my 15th attempt. He's a pretty cool looking pet.

I can't get Rarity to confirm my number of tries to get the Nightshade, but I believe it was maybe 92.  Now, here's an important tip to increase your Disturbed Podling rate - go herb in Ashran.  You'll be best off with stealth abilities, or really good armour to avoid the NPCs and opposite-faction kill-anything-on-sight types, but the Podling rate is between 33-50% for each herb gathered.  It is great for upping your attempt rate.

Got this guy today. Dropped off a Disturbed Poddling of the same color. Can't say for sure if having herbalism has any affect on getting this pet but, I got mine from picking herbs from my garrison herb garden which leads me to believe that herbalism is not needed to get this pet. Hopefully this helps out a little for others looking for their own Sproutling.

So can you get him in your garrison herb garden without the profession?

Sorry I misread the text. So you can get him in your herb garden it sounds like even without herbalism. Can anyone confirm they got him without herbalism? Or any guesses on drop rate? Just wondering if it is easier to buy the little fella.
