Patch 4.1.0 | Posted: May 2, 2011
This pet is available for digital download exclusively from the Blizzard Store. It may be purchased using any major credit card. Players who purchase this pet will receive a code which may be redeemed on any WoW account. All WoW accounts (of the same region) under one Battle.net account will have access to this pet. Codes may also be purchased as gifts for other players.
Prior to 7/31/2011, 100% of the $10 USD purchase price was donated to the American Red Cross's Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami relief efforts.
The Cenarion Hatchling raised over $1.9 million for charity.
As of January 6, 2019, this pet is no longer available from the Blizzard Pet Store. It was part of the "See You Later Bundle" promotion, and has since been "retired". Blizzard has stated that it might re-appear in the store at an undisclosed date in the future.
Between December 9, 2022 and December 13, 2022, players that linked their Twitch account to their Bnet account could earn this pet by watching WoW Twitch streams for at least 4 hours, making it temporarily available again.

Not yet the fearsome creatures they grow to in adulthood, the Cenarion hatchlings have an almost harmless appearance that has caught novice trainers of the Cenarion Circle off guard.
Screech is a debuff against the other team and allows them the chance to swap out a pet who is not effected by the debuff. It is a choice of an extra 140 damage each turn. Rush on the other hand is your buff and allows you to either use Quills or to escape with Lift-Off depending on which seems most advantageous. Using Lift-Off while you are currently slower then the other player will make them hit first while you smack them in the face.
Just leveled this cutie with Chrominus & Dark Phoenix Hatchling. Wow what a team! They complemented each other greatly. What one had trouble with the others helped out. I thought they were best friends. Will be useing them again!
Cenarion Hatchling
This is my favourite pet. Flies around and has cute sounds
I mostly skipped it because it's the same model as the Hippogryph Hatchling, a pet I already have.
Nothing left to say.
As for the color, I couldn't care less. I am glad they offer the card pets at an easy to acquire cost. Make with Bananas and the Spectral Kitteh already! They have a different id (which is fine for my alts and my main gets "two" counts for the same pet) but they look just as awesome. Win/Win.
Regardless of what one thinks about the model for the Cenarion Hatchling. I purchased one without a second thought for the relief effort.
In regards to the pet itself, I'm glad I got her. I knew I'd never get that pet from the cards (hence why she's in the excluded list) so when I saw this one I was squealing with joy. I don't think the price of the original will go down. I actually think it will go up.
