Poro cannot fly, but enjoys a long lifespan hopping along the ground and shaking the fruits from trees.

Poro drops from the birds on the Island.
Poro is a great kakapo and he seems to be the only parrot in WoW that is zygodactyl (two toes pointing forward and two toes pointing backwards) which is a cool thing about psittacine atomy that other parrot models in WoW have missed but this little fella is absolutely wonderful
In light of latest suspicions that drops depend on mobs killed: got mine on an island with nerubians & a mogu wave of invaders (normal mode).

This pet was dropped as a reward at the end of a Victory in Heroic Wispering Reef for my partner, of course he gave him to me! :D Poro is a cute little fella.
As I was obsessed with these little fellows, I felt that it was worth bringing up Poro's 'real world' counterpart, an endangered New Zealand bird called the Kakapo:

They are so endangered that every known living kakapo has a name.
In case you're curious, 'Poro' is not one of them, though the Māori word 'Poro' means 'Pocket'.
