The edges of its beak are particularly sharp. Watch your fingers during feeding time!
Maybe someone can help me, because I cannot seem to find this information: Now that Draenor is Outland (or whatever) can I still get this pet and Bloodbeak? If so, WHERE??? I am losing my mind because the only info is "Gorgrond" which doesn't appear to exist anymore, and every post and comment is from 2014/15. Help!
Agree that this comical looking character is underated. At lvl 25 rare quality, with a combined heal / 2 round 50% critical strike, it's tough and hits hard.
This little guy seems to either be inspired by a red-breasted (also known as green billed) toucan or a channel billed toucan
Definitely underrated. As mentioned can be quite deadly with the right team.
Can also solo the pandaren water spirit team. Just use lift-off to dodge the dive/whirpool combo from the first pet and the geyser whirlpool combo from the water spirit. Rain dance once you take some damage, otherwise spam slicing wind or peck. Never dropped below 50% hp with this strat
Underrated pet, this and Bloodbeak. The Rain Dance/ Nocturnal Strike combo can literally one shot aquatic pets and sometimes a crit can almost one shot other types of pets too especially if you get a P/P. Really demoralising for your opponent in PvP and great for boosting.
Really poor defensively though so hope you crit before you get crit!
One of these + Bloodbeak + another power pet is my 'Big Crits' fun setup :D
Which stat set have y'all found works best with the Axebeak Hatchling? I have one H/B and one P/B. Was just wondering if I should keep looking for another combo, or add my rare stone to one of these two. Any positive input is welcome!
With its heal, this little guy is very good at soloing three mobs and he hits pretty hard, so can be nice for pet leveling. For me, he's been invaluable in dealing with the crazy fast Royal Moths in Draenor while enjoying wild pet battling. I use him with the Son of Animus. Makes a nice team.
These are actually a pretty good addition to the team. Looks not too bad either. I like the groovy gnarled beak.
when you use rain dance it gives nocturnal strike a 100% hit chance. similar to the gilnean raven's call darkness/nocturnal strike combo except you get a heal from it first. it also boost crit chance when you use rain dance so you could be hitting harder than the gilnean raven. This might be a good pet to pair with a scourged whelpling for pvp or pve if you do not want to go through the hassle of obtaining a gilnean raven or a crow.
I just got one rare as a primary. Wildwood Wash, at 62 49.8.
I just got mine as a secondary to an Amberbarb Wasp up in Everbloom Wilds, 73,37. I did over 100 battles with the Axebeak as the primary, and never got a rare. It's possibly one of those pets that only comes rare as a secondary pet. I'd be interested to hear if anyone gets one as a primary.
Just got a second Blue Axebeak Hatchling, H/P & P/P
Got them as seconds pet battling in the Everbloom Wilds area (Gorgrond 54,44) while doing Assault on the Everbloom garrison daily.
Also got a Blue Amberbarb Wasp S/B
