Patch 5.1.0 | Posted: November 27, 2012
Collecting this pet is one of the requirements for the achievement Raiding with Leashes.
Level 0: 0 0 0
These tiny flame imps roam the Molten Core in large swarms and can replenish their numbers rapidly.
This guy is a great pet to start with, he was my first team Captain, because it will take a lot to kill him with his Cauterize, you can heal him even when he is on the back line with his Immolation. Giving you the chance to switch pets in that you want to level up.
His Burn does good damage, i usually use that.
But Rush is also nice when facing Critters, giving you the extra advantage of the Humanoid trait to already receive less Critter damage.
Get yours now! :)
Much like the Fiendish Imp and the Gregarious Grell, the Corefire Imp has gotten updated graphics! It now sports a softer red body with darker red-brown furr tufts, and now also has stylish horns, and even long hair too! Here's mine, Front, back, and Side. The imps have new models overall now, bearing individual fingers instead of boxy paws!
This is one of my go-to's for my main team. To me, he's invaluable.
I was running Molten Core for the first time without knowing a thing about it really, when this guy dropped for me. I was very lucky because I also got the Harbringer at the same time. I did the math, that is supposedly a 1 in 260 chance to have happen. This guy has quickly become one of my new favorites.
I guess i missed somthing here. After reading all the comments here I'm going to see what I missed or forgot. I haven't used him since I leveled him. My bad.
I'm not sure why this guy's appearance rating is so low. He is literally on fire! :D
5/5.
This guy is insane!!! open up with Immolation, a 9 turn dot! And then pop Wild Magic which will double the damage of the dot for 5 turns as well as add damage to any other moves you do afterwards. And if he starts to get low on health, set him on the backrow as long as there are still many charges left on the immolation dot and he will heal back up quite well because of the humanoid passive (heals user every time they deal damage). One of the best pets I've ever played with.
I'm not sure why this little guy has such a low rating; he's a beast! I use him to power level my other pets because he can easily take on a full team of wild 25s by himself. Toss immolatation on him for easy damage and a guaranteed human passive heal every round, use the heal after moderate and big sized damage, and burn enemies down one after another. He's crazy good and easily one of my favorite pets.
Great pet for pvp battling- goes great with the crawling claw and scouraged whelpling
i LOVE this guy! was pvp-ing and used this as my first fighter, heals so well it lasted throughout all three of opponent's pet deaths! very awesome!
best human pet against critters. highly recommended to use when leveling other pets.
All raid pets will still drop even when you have one already...at least this one did. :)
Am I the only one who likes using this guy? How good for PvP he is I can't comment on but I find it nice that he has a heal and secondly being a Humanoid I just pop Immolation and put him on the back row if his health is low ..and just watch him gain hp every round.
Got Corefire and the rest of the MC pets on first run. Haven't started leveling him yet. Anyone know if its worth it or should I just be trying to sell him?
Do pets still drop if you already have one in your journal?
Thanks, guess there is a reason to keep running these raids even after you get the pets then. Got all from Molten Core on first run but none from BWL or AQ. Have soloed all raids for new pets as a SPriest.
Love this guy -- he tanks like a FFXI RDM with his Immolation ability and his heals.
When I got him, I was running a guildy through the raid. I swear, the reason I agreed to run through it was out of love and dedecation to my guild, not to try and get the companions at all...
Got him and the harbringer first time :D Judging from the comments, they seem like a fairly high drop rate.
second try was a charm. Very cute
Nice pet! At lvl 18 I was taking out the Effervescent Glowfly teams in The Summer Fields solo for 800+ xp. Oh that's with Safari Hat.
Got him on my first try today.
Update: at 25 I find he's even stronger than the gregarious grell, and have replaced the grell with him in my main team.
