The mob that drops this pet is a rare spawn that patrols the southern beach, just below Ihgaluk Crag on the Isle of Thunder.

Loyal to the Sunreavers from creation, these pint-sized constructs can still pack a punch.
this is one of the best in the game today. i use a couple of them and a "specialist" pet for most fights, depending on the target.
Just got this guy today. I portalled to Thundering Isles, and ran to the location (/way 48.6 89.8) given by Wowheads's page for the Sunreaver Micro-Sentry.
The Haywire Sunreaver Construct came running up right as I got there, I killed him and the Micro-Sentry dropped as loot. I'm not sure if this is a typical drop-rate now, but the whole process took about 2 minutes from my portalling in.
Wish I'd known it was this easy - I'd have collected the pet long ago.
Saw this on the AH for 900 G, I took it because it was such a grab and have not reggretted it

This guy is awesome for battleing a number of the pet boss dailies. He's a goto for my mechanical pet. He can pretty much solo Gara and has done so by accident a number of times while leveling some pets. I think it's Hyuna, he can usually take down the wasp and snake and die from the headbut from Dor the Wall making way to slide your level 1 then finsih off the fight with a Raven of some sort.
I also use him to shred through the beast hatchlings when getting those last levels for some pets outside the garrison.

Ever since getting this pet it has shown off horribly. From my experience: despite have Extra Plating it's still extremely frail, and its only Mechanical type move is Call Lightning, which makes it even ore frail and on a medium cd. Haywire's typing contributes nothing to this pet pvp-wise, and doesn't seem to do enough dmg outside of Supercharge. If you're looking for a mechanical pet, all I can say is don't ever use it.
Seriously? I was about to say I think they nerfed him because I've taken him out a half dozen times and no pet yet... Just Valor points and lesser charms of good fortune... Plus I'm a Mistweaver and damage is low so it's a long boring fight... sigh..
ok, on my 10th kill it finally dropped. Whew! Glad that's over! If at first you don't succeed...
WAs lucky to get this on my first kill, finally the RNG gods where kind for once. Now to level him up
Good pet.. lvled my Sentry up to 25 does awesome damage
i have 2 of these in my pet log but i can't add a 3rd one it says "you can't have any more pets" it might be a bug in world of warcraft pet interface or something...
Just got him today from Haywire. First time killing the rare. I died once during battle. Came back and managed to get in a few hits before he died. I didn't even know this pet dropped from the mob.
Got the pet on my 3rd kill. Spawns were 36 mins, 48 mins, 55 mins from the time of the previous kill (not spawn).
If you can't loot, relog. I also heard running away til you can't target him and coming back works, or killing another creature and looting it works, but I did the relog method. Two of my 3 kills I had no loot, relogged, and it was there. One of those was the pet. So be sure to try this if you can't loot him.
Also got a key, stone, and tomes of valor. Hope this helps someone. GL all!
Anyone find it strange that Haywire is a beast type ability? It might get changed in the future.
Seems to have a rather large drop rate (at least the same as if not better than the classic raid pets), I killed twice in a row and got the pet both times. The spawns on the isle are very fast (~30 minutes).
As a battle pet..He is breed 4, is the second mech with Call Lightning (Tranquil Mechanical Yeti), and has Supercharge too. He lacks any mech attack though besides the lightning, and there are better pets with beast-centric attacks..so I don't know how useful he really is.
This pet is awesome got it today. Now it's 25 and massive dmg dealer:)
Just killed him. BF didn't get any loot on him. I got gold and a 15 VP book. No pet. :(
Update: Killed him at least 7 times and finally got it! There's a lot of bugs with the loot on these rares. Sometimes you get loot sometimes you don't, regardless if you have the tag. When you have no loot, or tried to loot and then it disappeared from the loot window (but not into your bags); if you drag another mob nearby and kill it, about half the time you'll get that missing loot via aoe looting.
just killed this rare Haywire on the far side of the isle on the beach , the whole group got to loot one from his corpse it is soulbound :) great looking pet, little bit like xt
In PTR this dropped from the rare (silver dragon) Haywire Sunreaver Construct (NPCID:50358) found on Isle of Thunder. Like the other battle pets off rares this is not a 100% drop.
